Amazon Prime Day 2026: Kindle Discounts Reach 36% as Sales Shift to Early June
Amazon has moved its annual Prime Day event from July to late June, offering significant savings on its e-reader lineup.

Amazon has commenced its 2026 Prime Day sale, running from 23 to 26 June, with discounts of up to 36% on select Kindle e-readers. This event marks a strategic shift from the traditional July window to an early June timeframe. The promotion covers the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Colorsoft, and the 11th-generation Kindle, which is available in a 'matcha green' colour and starts at under $100.
The sale includes both regular and Signature versions of the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Colorsoft. The Paperwhite features a 7-inch black-and-white screen with an adjustable warm front light and up to 12 weeks of battery life. The Signature version adds wireless charging and an auto-adjusting front light. The Kindle Colorsoft, which features a muted colour screen, is available in ad-free versions and recently received a true Dark Mode update.
The 11th-generation Kindle offers a 6-inch screen without a warm front light but remains a powerful option at its reduced price point. It is the only model currently offered in the new matcha green colour. While the device lacks some premium features, its snappy performance and low entry price make it a focal point of the current promotion.
Kindle Kids devices are also included in the sale, bundling either six months of Amazon Kids+ content for the Paperwhite Kids or a full year for the Colorsoft Kids. These devices come with protective covers and kid-focused content for ages 3 to 12. The color screen on the Colorsoft Kids is particularly noted for its suitability for graphic novels and illustrated stories.
The Kindle Scribe and Kindle Scribe Colorsoft are excluded from the current discounts. While Kindles generally remain in stock, specific colours or storage configurations may experience temporary unavailability, advising early purchase for specific configurations.
