Allen says he should have thrown it away in Bills’ loss to Patriots
A late interception helped end Buffalo’s chance to respond in a 29–26 defeat. The Bills fell to 3–1; New England moved to 2–2.

The New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills 29–26, handing Buffalo its first loss of the season. The result moved the Patriots to 2–2 and left the Bills at 3–1.
In the final minute, Bills quarterback Josh Allen escaped a sack attempt, then threw deep into double coverage. Craig Woodson intercepted the pass, and Buffalo did not regain possession.
Allen said he should have thrown the ball away. He noted the Bills were within 20 yards of field-goal range and said he should have discarded the pass and kept the drive alive.
Bills coach Joe Brady said he should have called a better play in that situation, adding that everyone on the field needed to perform better. Allen said the team had to learn from the loss and move on.
Buffalo also lost a fumble by receiver Khalil Shakir. After two turnover-free games to open the season, the Bills had turnovers in each of their past two outings, according to Fox Sports’ Associated Press report.
Allen scored on a two-yard run and threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Keon Coleman, who had six catches for 116 yards. Buffalo’s next games are a two-game West Coast road swing, beginning against the Los Angeles Rams.
