Air Force edges Nevada 36–33 in double overtime

Air Force beat Nevada 36–33 in double overtime on Saturday night, with Rocco Conti scoring on a 7-yard run to end the game. Yahoo Sports’ report, citing the Associated Press, identified the match as Nevada’s Mountain West Conference opener.
Nevada came back from 10 points down in the final 5:56 of regulation. After Joe McFadden kicked a field goal, Herschel Turner’s 57-yard touchdown run tied the score at 27 and sent the teams to overtime.
The sides traded field goals in the first overtime. McFadden added another in the second before Conti’s run secured the win for Air Force.
Air Force quarterback Liam Szarka had 171 rushing yards on 33 carries and completed five of 12 passes for 92 yards. Nevada’s Turner ran for 111 yards on 11 carries, while Carter Jones completed 18 of 30 passes for 224 yards.
