Acer has relaunched Packard Bell at IFA 2026, returning the once-prominent PC brand to consumer technology with a new laptop and a broader range of products. The initial rollout covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while Acer has not said whether the lineup will reach US stores.

The centrepiece is the DotBook, a 14.5-inch laptop with a 1,920 × 1,200 IPS display, an Intel Core 3 N355 processor, up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Packard Bell says the notebook weighs less than 2.9 pounds and offers up to seven hours of battery life. Prices start at €499, although market and sales-channel pricing may vary.

The range extends beyond PCs, including the DotLoop suitcase turntable, a DotLine 4G feature phone, DotLook audio glasses, headphones, a ring light, desk accessories and a connected mini-steamer made with Steasy. Acer is positioning the brand around affordable, straightforward consumer technology under the “Tech it easy” tagline.

Acer says customers will have access to multilingual support in 28 countries and its existing EMEA service-centre network. Warranty terms for individual markets were not specified. Engadget reported that Acer’s launch materials also give conflicting timing for the DotBook, referring to both September and the fourth quarter of 2026.

Packard Bell was a major presence in US retail during the 1990s and said it held an 11.5 per cent share of the US PC market in 1994. Acer acquired a 75 per cent stake in the brand’s parent company for $45.8 million in 2008, and later revived Gateway in the US through Walmart in 2020.
