Aaron Judge activated by Yankees ahead of scheduled return
The Yankees captain has been cleared to return after three months out with a stress fracture of his first right rib.
The New York Yankees have activated captain Aaron Judge from the 60-day injured list, clearing the way for his scheduled return against the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.
Judge has been sidelined since 31 May with a stress fracture of his first right rib. His activation follows three months away from the Yankees’ lineup.
The roster move required the Yankees to designate right-handed pitcher Chase Hampton for assignment, creating a spot on the club’s 40-man roster. The designation changes Hampton’s roster status but does not establish whether he will be released or traded.
Before his injury, Judge was batting .248 with 17 home runs, 38 RBIs and a .907 on-base plus slugging percentage across 59 games, according to Fox Sports.
The Yankees were reported to hold an 81–62 record and sit four games behind the Tampa Bay Rays. Judge’s actual participation and performance in Tuesday’s game remain unconfirmed.
