The San Francisco 49ers have signed running back Zamir White, a move designed to stabilise a backfield currently decimated by injuries. The 26-year-old joins the club following the completion of his rookie contract with the Las Vegas Raiders after the 2025 season, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

White, selected in the fourth round of the 2022 draft, brings a track record of durability and consistent production to San Francisco. Over 45 career games, he has recorded 736 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 198 carries, while also contributing 152 receiving yards on 25 catches. His most recent season saw him appear in six games, accumulating 32 rushing yards and 24 receiving yards.

The signing addresses an urgent operational need for the 49ers, who are managing a significant shortage of healthy running backs. Key starter Christian McCaffrey missed Monday’s practice due to tightness, while fellow running backs Jordan James, Kaelon Black, and Isaac Guerendo have also been ruled out. The team had previously held workouts for both White and Nyheim Miller-Hines earlier in the week before making their selection.
