Zverev advances to US Open semi-final against Khachanov
The top seed defeated Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets, while Karen Khachanov advanced after Alexander Blockx retired while trailing.

Alexander Zverev has reached the US Open semi-finals after defeating Botic van de Zandschulp 6-2, 7-5, 6-1.
The top seed will face Karen Khachanov in the last four, having recovered from five-set matches in his opening two rounds to win his past three matches in straight sets, according to Sky Sports.
The victory secured Zverev’s 13th major semi-final and his third at the US Open. He is the reigning French Open champion and was the runner-up at the 2020 US Open.
Khachanov reached the semi-finals when Alexander Blockx retired while trailing 6-2, 7-5, 3-2. Blockx, the first Belgian man to reach the US Open quarter-finals, was reported to be carrying a rib injury and to have been hampered by further physical problems during the match.
The semi-final will be Khachanov’s first at the US Open since 2022 and his first Grand Slam semi-final since the 2023 Australian Open.
