Speaking at the Yalta European Strategy forum on Friday, Zelensky said sanctions were needed “now”. He also said he planned to meet Trump in late September, although no further details of the proposed meeting were provided.
Zelensky separately called for a truce covering attacks on energy targets. He said Ukraine was prepared to respond in kind if Russia attacked its energy grid over the winter, presenting the warning as a deterrent against further strikes.
