Yankees place Trent Grisham on injured list with Grade 2 hamstring strain
New York has recalled Jasson Domínguez from Triple-A, while manager Aaron Boone says Grisham may miss the rest of the regular season.
The New York Yankees have placed outfielder Trent Grisham on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain and recalled Jasson Domínguez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The Yankees announced the roster moves on 5 September, after Grisham was removed from a game against San Diego with discomfort in the same hamstring that previously sidelined him earlier in 2026.
The injury was later identified as a Grade 2 strain. Manager Aaron Boone said on 6 September that Grisham may miss the rest of the regular season, although the Yankees have not confirmed a timetable for his return.
Grisham had been batting .211/.308/.395 with 18 home runs and a 95 OPS+ before the injury. Domínguez is expected to provide outfield depth after batting .230/.270/.380 during his earlier major-league opportunity this season.
The Yankees have not officially confirmed the possible return of Aaron Judge or the extent of Cody Bellinger’s availability in centre field.
