Yankees and Red Sox set for seventh postseason series
New York hosts Game 1 on 27 September as the teams meet in the Wild Card Series for a second consecutive year.
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are scheduled to meet in the 2026 MLB Wild Card Series, their seventh postseason series against one another. The Yankees are the American League’s No. 1 wild-card seed, with Boston in the No. 2 position.
Game 1 of the three-game series is scheduled for 27 September at Yankee Stadium. The matchup is a rematch of last year’s Wild Card Series, which New York won in three games.
Boston secured its seed with a win over the Chicago Cubs on 25 September, according to Fox Sports. New York had clinched the top wild-card position earlier in the week.
The Yankees won seven of the teams’ 13 regular-season meetings. Their postseason record against each other is level, with three series wins apiece.
