Yahoo Sports puts Southwest Florida’s August high-school plays to a fan vote
Yahoo Sports has featured seven Southwest Florida highlights, including return touchdowns, a 99-yard pass and a 50-foot putt, and invited fans to choose their favourite.
Yahoo Sports has published a video and fan poll showcasing selected Southwest Florida high-school sports highlights from August.
The featured plays include Mariner’s Tondrick Mack returning a free kick 74 yards and Canterbury’s Michael Theiser sinking a 50-foot putt.
Other highlights credited by Yahoo Sports include interception, fumble and punt returns for touchdowns by Canterbury’s Jet Langford, Cypress Lake’s Rodzarious Thurman and Dunbar’s Tihiem Hutchins. Thurman and Hutchins were each listed with 75-yard returns.
Barron Collier’s Maximus McKiernan-to-Ben Brackin connection was described as a 99-yard touchdown pass. South Fort Myers’ Jer’Shard Benjamin was also credited with a touchdown described as game-winning against Riverdale.
The feature included plays captured by the Southwest Florida sports team, along with one submitted video. Fans can vote for their favourite and submit videos for consideration in future Top Plays features. No poll winner was identified in the available material.
