Williams has completed its approximately US$5.5 billion acquisition of Momentum Midstream, expanding its position in the Haynesville natural gas basin and its links to Gulf Coast demand.

The transaction comprises approximately US$3.5 billion in cash and debt consideration, alongside around US$2 billion in Williams equity, according to Yahoo Finance.

Momentum adds more than 4,000 miles of pipeline, over 1 million dedicated acres and 6 Bcf/d of natural gas-gathering capacity. The assets also include processing and treating facilities.

Three acquired pipelines have combined take-or-pay transportation capacity of 4.05 Bcf/d. Williams said the infrastructure connects Haynesville supply with Gulf Coast LNG, power-generation and industrial customers.

Williams announced the transaction on 3 August and said it was expected to be accretive to earnings per share and available funds from operations per share. The company also raised the midpoint of its 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance by US$200 million to US$8.4 billion, citing the acquisition.

The US Energy Information Administration said Haynesville production rose about 1.1 Bcf/d, or 7%, in the first half of 2026 from a year earlier, and forecast approximately 9% growth for the full year.
