West Bromwich Albion moved top of the Championship after defeating Derby County 1-0 at Pride Park, according to Sky Sports.
Aune Heggebo put the visitors ahead in the 16th minute, finishing a fast counter-attack from Jimmy-Jay Morgan’s low cross.
West Brom’s task became more difficult in the 34th minute when defender Brayann Pereira was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. The visitors then played for more than an hour with 10 men.
Derby applied sustained pressure after the dismissal but struggled to convert possession into clear chances. Lars-Jorgen Salvesen headed over from close range, while Henrik Meister was denied by a late clearance from Nat Phillips.
West Brom defended their penalty area effectively to preserve the result. The win came after Derby’s previous home defeat to Swansea.
