Washington’s Seattle upset leads CBS Sports’ mixed Week 3 grades
The Commanders earned an A for their 33–31 win, while Jacksonville and Atlanta received A+ grades and New England and Green Bay were marked down with Fs.
CBS Sports’ review of NFL Week 3 grades the Washington Commanders A after their 33–31 win over Seattle, one of several results the outlet framed as an upset. Washington played with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota, who threw three touchdown passes, and secured the result with a late defensive score.
Jacksonville and Atlanta each received an A+ from CBS Sports. The Jaguars beat New England 35–6, while the Falcons defeated Green Bay 35–14. The Patriots and Packers were both assigned F grades.
CBS Sports’ assessment of New England focused on three turnovers by quarterback Drake Maye, which the outlet said helped Jacksonville score 14 points. Its review of Green Bay criticised the team’s rushing attack, quarterback Jordan Love’s accuracy and the defence’s tackling.
The grades also reflect wins by teams outside the headline match-ups. Pittsburgh beat Cincinnati 30–27, while Buffalo defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 24–16. CBS Sports gave the Steelers a B and the Bills a C+.
The marks are the outlet’s editorial judgements on team performances, rather than an official league rating.
