Eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller is expected to sign with the Dallas Cowboys, according to a report by ESPN. The 37-year-old defensive end is poised to join the NFL side following his most recent stint with the Washington Commanders, where he recorded nine sacks last season.
The move brings Miller’s career sack total to 138.5, a figure that ties him with DeMarcus Ware for ninth place on the all-time list since the statistic became official in 1982. His performance in Washington represented his highest sack output since the 2021 season, when he recorded 9.5 sacks while splitting time between the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Rams.
Miller’s professional trajectory has seen him spend the first 9.5 years of his career with the Broncos before being traded to the Rams. He secured Super Bowl victories with both franchises, notably serving as the MVP for Denver’s Super Bowl 50 triumph over the Carolina Panthers in the 2015 season. Following a half-season with Los Angeles, he signed with the Buffalo Bills as a free agent.
His tenure in Buffalo was significantly impacted by a torn ACL, which caused him to miss the final five games of the 2022 season and the first four games of the 2023 campaign. Despite these injuries, Miller remains a decorated player, having been selected as a three-time first-team All-Pro and named the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2011 after being drafted second overall out of Texas A&M.
