Vikings revise Isaiah Rodgers’ contract ahead of Packers clash
Minnesota has converted up to US$1.5 million in Rodgers’ playtime incentives into a signing bonus, a move reported to create additional salary-cap room before Week 1.
The Minnesota Vikings have revised starting cornerback Isaiah Rodgers’ contract before their Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers, creating additional salary-cap space.
Yahoo Sports reported that the change converts up to US$1.5 million in playtime incentives into a signing bonus. The financial details were attributed to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, citing unnamed sources, while the Vikings confirmed that Rodgers’ contract had been revised.
Rodgers was listed as a starter on Minnesota’s depth chart ahead of the game. He started 15 games in 2025 and was due US$5 million in 2026, according to the report.
The revision comes as the Vikings prepare for a Packers offence led by Jordan Love. Veteran defensive back Harrison Smith is also expected to return after signing a new contract.
Minnesota’s secondary helped hold Green Bay to 26 points across two games last season, with the teams splitting their season series. Rodgers recorded 66 tackles, four pass break-ups and an interception returned for 87 yards during the campaign.
