The Vegas Golden Knights have overcome a significant deficit to defeat the Utah Mammoth 5-4 in double overtime, securing a 3-2 series lead in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The decisive moment arrived with 5:28 remaining in the second overtime period, when Brett Howden scored to beat Mammoth goaltender Karel Vejmelka at T-Mobile Arena. This victory ensures the Knights will host Game 7 if necessary, while the series shifts to the Delta Center in Salt Lake City for the next contest.
Head coach John Tortorella emphasised that the team's mental toughness must originate from within the locker room, a philosophy that proved decisive in this physical slugfest.
