Vanderbilt wins 35–31 after late NC State fumble

According to CBS Sports, NC State had intercepted Vanderbilt quarterback Jared Curtis at its own 2-yard line and was positioned to protect a 31–28 lead.
NC State quarterback C.J. Bailey attempted to run down the clock in the end zone but fumbled as Vanderbilt closed in. Vanderbilt edge rusher Miles Capers forced the fumble, and cornerback Cayden Daniels recovered the loose ball for the decisive touchdown.
The score gave Vanderbilt its first lead of the game after the Commodores had trailed by as many as 17 points. NC State had one second remaining to respond but could not produce another score.
The result left Vanderbilt 3–0 and NC State 1–2, according to the source package.
