Vacant flyweight title puts UFC 332’s division future in focus

UFC 332 is scheduled for Saturday at Salt Lake City’s Delta Center, where Natalia Silva and Wang Cong will contest the vacant women’s flyweight title. The title became vacant after Valentina Shevchenko stepped aside while recovering from injuries, according to CBS Sports.
The bout gives the division a new champion after Shevchenko’s title reign. CBS Sports reports that Silva enters on a 14-fight winning streak, while Cong has a kickboxing victory over Shevchenko.
The co-feature pairs Payton Talbott with former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo. Talbott is coming off a decision win over Henry Cejudo; Figueiredo has lost four of his last five, according to CBS Sports.
Elsewhere, veteran lightweight King Green faces Esteban Ribovics, while Roberto Soldic makes his UFC debut against Khaos Williams. Soldic previously won titles in two divisions with KSW, CBS Sports reports.
The card also features middleweights Ateba Gautier and Damian Pinas, each seeking to extend an unbeaten UFC start. Their separate bouts add another division storyline to a card led by the fight for a vacant title.
