Titans’ Gray misses practice as Faulk returns ahead of Jets clash
Cedric Gray remains in concussion protocol, while rookie Keldric Faulk returned to full practice for Tennessee.
Tennessee Titans linebacker Cedric Gray missed Wednesday’s practice while in concussion protocol, leaving his availability for Sunday’s Week 1 game against the New York Jets unresolved.
Head coach Robert Saleh said Gray has a chance to play if he clears the protocol. The Titans are scheduled to host the Jets at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, with kick-off set for noon CDT.
Rookie defensive end Keldric Faulk returned as a full participant after missing the final weeks of training camp and the pre-season with a shoulder injury. Faulk said he was 100 per cent.
The Wednesday report listed no limited participants. Yahoo Sports reported that Gray was the only Titans player listed as absent from practice, while Faulk’s return provided an early indication of his recovery ahead of the opener.
Gray has not been ruled out, but must complete the concussion protocol before his status can be confirmed. Faulk’s return to full practice marks progress, although the report does not by itself confirm his availability for the game.
