Titans’ 2026 Draft Pick Jaren Kanak Ruled Out for Season with Pectoral Injury
ESPN reporter Turron Davenport confirms Kanak will miss the entire 2026 campaign following a torn pectoral muscle sustained during training camp.

The Tennessee Titans’ 2026 season has been dealt a significant blow with the confirmation that seventh-round draft pick Jaren Kanak will miss the entire year. The injury, identified as a torn pectoral muscle, was sustained during the team’s training camp period, effectively ending Kanak’s opportunity to compete for a roster spot in his first professional season.
The severity of the injury was confirmed by ESPN reporter Turron Davenport, who covers the Titans. Davenport noted on social media on 15 August 2026 that Kanak is among the players ruled out for the season, alongside linebacker Jaylen Harrell, who is sidelined with an ACL injury. These concurrent injuries present an early challenge for the Titans’ depth chart as they prepare for the regular season.
Kanak’s path to the NFL was marked by significant adaptation. Originally a four-star recruit committed to the Clemson Tigers, he transferred to the University of Oklahoma in 2022 to follow head coach Brent Venables. Venables recruited Kanak for his athletic ability, placing him at linebacker despite the player having no prior experience at the position.
During his time at Oklahoma, Kanak displayed notable defensive metrics as a sophomore, recording 62 tackles, six tackles for loss, and two sacks while starting multiple games. However, the fit at linebacker never fully materialised, prompting a position change to tight end for his final collegiate season.
Despite being considered undersized for the role, Kanak adjusted effectively. He recorded 44 receptions for 533 yards in his final year at Oklahoma, finishing third on the team in receiving. This productive performance in his adapted role contributed to his selection by the Titans in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The injury now shifts Kanak’s focus from immediate contribution to rehabilitation. For a player who successfully navigated a major position change to reach the professional level, the physical setback represents a new hurdle. The Titans will now monitor his recovery with the expectation that he remains a part of the organisation’s long-term plans upon his return.
