Tigers complete home sweep of Rockies with 8–1 win

The Detroit Tigers defeated the Colorado Rockies 8–1 at Comerica Park on 13 September 2026, completing a three-game home-series sweep.
Detroit took control with five runs in the second inning after Colorado starter Gabriel Hughes was replaced following two innings. Kevin McGonigle’s two-run triple brought two runs home, while further scoring followed earlier contributions from John Peck.
Riley Greene supplied a two-run home run in the first inning and later singled to drive in another run, finishing with three RBIs. Spencer Torkelson added a solo home run in the fifth inning as Detroit extended its lead.
Jackson Jobe pitched 6⅓ innings and recorded a career-high eight strikeouts, according to Yahoo Sports. Colorado’s Adael Amador hit a solo home run in the first inning, but the Rockies could not close the gap.
The result gave Detroit the sweep in the finale of the weekend series, with the Tigers adding runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
