Three years after the war in Gaza began, an Al Jazeera account reports at least 74,000 Palestinians killed and more than 175,000 injured. It says the toll recorded by the Palestinian Ministry of Health excludes people missing or believed buried under rubble, so the total may be higher.

The report says 1.98 million Palestinians have been displaced, while 82 per cent of structures have been destroyed. It cites UN figures that 94 per cent of health facilities are fully or partly out of service and that 93 per cent of schools need complete reconstruction.

A ceasefire took effect on 10 October 2025. Al Jazeera says attacks and killings continued afterwards, citing Ministry of Health figures of at least 1,460 Palestinians killed and 5,116 injured since it began.

The report also describes extensive damage to water infrastructure and says nearly half of Gaza’s population survives on less than six litres of water a day for drinking and cooking. It says more than 700,000 students lack access to formal education.

The casualty and displacement figures are attributed to Al Jazeera’s account and the named authorities. They cover different periods, and the reported death toll does not include people missing or under rubble.
