The technical issue occurred on 28 April 2026, leaving the arena in brief uncertainty as the audio cut in and out during the performance.
Approximately 19,000 fans immediately joined in to complete the anthem, filling the building with voices within seconds of the malfunction. This collective action ensured the Canadian song was finished before Clune resumed singing the remainder of the piece with a working microphone.
