Team India to base in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter ahead of Ireland T20I series
Fresh from their ICC T20 World Cup 2026 victory, the Indian cricket team will lodge at the Titanic Quarter hotel in Belfast for the two-match series against Ireland, commencing on June 26.
Team India has confirmed its accommodation arrangements for the upcoming two-match T20I series against Ireland, selecting the Titanic Quarter hotel in Belfast as its base. The squad, described in reports as arriving fresh from their ICC T20 World Cup 2026 triumph, is scheduled to commence the fixtures on June 26. The matches will be held at the Civil Service Cricket Club, marking the initial phase of India’s broader white-ball tour of the United Kingdom, which is followed by a series against England.
According to reports from Times Now, the team will travel to Belfast in two separate batches to manage logistics. The first group, comprising players and support staff, will depart from Chennai, while the second group will leave from Mumbai. Both contingents are expected to fly via Dubai and Dublin before completing the final leg of their journey to Belfast by road. The second group is anticipated to arrive in the city on the afternoon of June 24.
The chosen location, the Titanic Quarter, is a waterfront district situated on reclaimed land along the River Lagan. The area derives its name from its historical significance as the site of the Harland & Wolff shipyard, where the RMS Titanic was constructed prior to its 1912 voyage. The district features the Titanic Belfast museum, an angular structure dedicated to the liner’s history, and the SS Nomadic, a floating museum representing the last surviving vessel from the White Star Line fleet.
Beyond its maritime heritage, the Titanic Quarter has developed into a mixed-use hub housing film studios, educational campuses, and a public records archive. The area includes hotels and residential blocks that cater to both visitors and locals. The Indian squad, which includes 15-year-old prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, will remain at this facility for the duration of their stay in the city.
The upcoming series against Ireland serves as a critical warm-up for the subsequent white-ball campaign against England. The two T20I fixtures will take place within a tight three-day window at the Civil Service Cricket Club. The team’s presence in Belfast coincides with ongoing discussions regarding player performance, including recent comments from R Ashwin regarding criticism faced by Sooryavanshi during the India A tour.
