Baseball: Rhode Island RHP transfer Manny Santos commits to TCU
Right-hander brings two years of eligibility and improved strikeout numbers to Fort Worth

Texas Christian University (TCU) baseball has secured the commitment of Manny Santos, a right-handed pitcher currently enrolled at the University of Rhode Island. The announcement follows a recent official visit by Santos to the TCU campus in Fort Worth, Texas, where he evaluated the program before finalising his decision to join the Horned Frogs.

Santos, a sophomore from Amsterdam, New York, brings two years of NCAA eligibility remaining to the university. Standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 185 pounds, the pitcher is expected to contribute to the TCU bullpen as he transitions from his previous tenure with the University of Rhode Island Anchormen.

During the 2026 season with the University of Rhode Island, Santos recorded a 2-2 win-loss record and an 8.74 earned run average across 45.1 innings pitched. He appeared in 38 relief outings, striking out 63 batters while issuing 44 walks. Opposing hitters managed a .208 batting average against him during that campaign, marking a statistical improvement from his freshman year.

In his initial season with the University of Rhode Island, Santos threw 17 innings, posting a 14.00 earned run average with 19 walks and 22 strikeouts. The data indicates a notable progression in his performance metrics between his freshman and sophomore years, particularly in his ability to limit hits and increase strikeout volume.

Santos’ pitching repertoire features a fastball that sits between 92 and 94 miles per hour, with the potential to reach 95 miles per hour. He also utilises a slider ranging from 80 to 83 miles per hour and a changeup that sits between 86 and 88 miles per hour. The commitment was publicly confirmed via social media on June 6, 2026, by Jake McKeever, who shared the details of the signing.
