Sutton’s 115-point lead puts fifth BTCC title within reach

Ash Sutton heads into the British Touring Car Championship’s penultimate round at Silverstone with a 115-point lead and a chance to secure a record fifth title. The 32-year-old’s teammate Dan Cammish is second in the standings.
Sutton, who drives for Northampton-based NAPA Racing UK, said the opportunity felt “surreal”. He recalled watching the series as a child in 2006 and aspiring to race in it.
He has won the championship in 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2023. A fifth title would make him the first driver to reach that mark, according to the source report.
