Strategy Holds Bitcoin Steady as Cash Reserves Swell to $3 Billion
With Bitcoin trading below its average acquisition cost and broader risk assets under pressure, Strategy maintains its 843,775 BTC position while bolstering its dollar reserves.

Strategy, the cryptocurrency treasury firm led by Chairman Michael Saylor, reported no changes to its Bitcoin holdings over the past week, maintaining a total position of 843,775 BTC. According to the company’s latest regulatory filing, there were no purchases or sales of the digital asset recorded during the seven-day period.
Instead of adjusting its crypto exposure, the firm focused on strengthening its liquidity position. Strategy increased its US dollar reserves by $466.7 million to reach $3 billion, a move achieved through at-the-market stock sales. The company stated that these reserves are designated to support dividend payments on its preferred stock, listed as $STRC, and to cover interest payments on its debt obligations.
The firm’s Bitcoin portfolio remains underwater, with an average acquisition price of $75,476 against a current trading price of $62,500. While the asset saw some price movement over the preceding week, Bitcoin faced renewed pressure on July 13 as investors fled risk assets. This sell-off was driven by rising tensions between the US and Iran, alongside sharp increases in crude oil prices.
Broader market sentiment has been influenced by significant corporate and geopolitical developments. US equity markets recently reacted to the debut of SpaceX on the Nasdaq on 11 June 2026, which raised $75 billion in a record-breaking initial public offering. Additionally, diplomatic summits involving the US, China, and Iran have contributed to volatility, with markets showing mixed reactions to trade and AI-related discussions.
Strategy’s share price has declined 79% over the last 12 months, currently trading at $94.64. The company’s decision to hold its Bitcoin steady while raising cash highlights a strategic focus on solvency and liquidity management amidst a challenging macroeconomic environment and a depressed valuation for its core asset.
