Springboks maintain perfect Nations Championship start with dominant Wales victory

South Africa maintained their flawless record in the Rugby Nations Championship with a comprehensive 43-0 victory over Wales in Durban on Saturday. The result leaves the Springboks three from three in the tournament, positioning them alongside New Zealand as the only unbeaten teams following the conclusion of the southern hemisphere leg.

The Springboks scored seven tries, with seven different players crossing the line, yet struggled to fully reflect their dominance on the scoreboard. The team, which featured ten changes from their previous squad including four debutants, was frequently undone by knock-ons and both forced and unforced errors while handling a slippery ball. Wales arrived in Durban with a stronger lineup than the all-local side that was defeated 73-0 by South Africa in Cardiff last November, but were still thoroughly outclassed. The Welsh side failed to register any points for more than two and a half hours of play, extending a long-standing drought against their southern hemisphere rivals.

Prior to this fixture, South Africa had secured a 42-28 win over Scotland, establishing a strong foundation for their campaign.
