The model, developed by DFS professional Mike McClure, has simulated the tournament 10,000 times to generate its projections for the opening event of the PGA Tour postseason.
One specific pick highlighted in the model is Russell Henley to finish ahead of Si Woo Kim. The selection is based on Henley’s superior putting statistics and recent performance at TPC Southwind. Henley ranks 14th in strokes gained: putting and has finished better than Kim in three of their last four mutual starts. Conversely, Si Woo Kim sits outside the top 100 in both strokes gained: putting and total putting, and has never finished better than 14th in four starts at the venue.
The model claims to have correctly predicted the winners of 17 majors entering the weekend, including five consecutive Masters titles. It has been active since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. For the 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship, the model projects Henley to finish inside the top 10, while Kim is projected to finish outside the top 10.
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are listed as the top odds favourites for the tournament, which commences the PGA postseason. Scheffler is the +460 favourite, with McIlroy next at +1025. Neither player has previously won or placed second at this event. Michael Brennan is listed at +6000 to win, having won his previous event.
