Samsung to unveil wider Z Fold 8 and AI glasses at July Unpacked
Leaks point to a redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8, a thinner Watch Ultra 2 and a Snapdragon Wear Elite chip across the wearable lineup as Samsung prepares for its July 22 launch.

Samsung is set to host its Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, 2026, beginning at 9AM ET or 6AM PT. The invite-only gathering will be broadcast live via the company’s website and YouTube channel, offering a global audience a view of the tech giant’s latest hardware ambitions.
Industry leaks suggest the headline act will be a significantly redesigned Galaxy Z Fold 8. According to images shared by leaker Evan Blass, the new device adopts a wider, passport-like form factor when folded, opening to an extended display. The specifications reportedly include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, dual 50MP rear cameras, a 10MP cover camera, and up to 26 hours of video playback.
A Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra variant is also expected to join the lineup. While it retains the slim, tall design of its predecessor, the Z Fold 7, it features an upgraded 5,000mAh battery capable of delivering up to 27 hours of video playback. The accompanying Galaxy Z Flip 8 is rumored to carry a 4,300mAh battery and a camera array comprising a 10MP front-facing lens, a 50MP wide lens, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.
The wearable segment appears to be receiving a substantial boost, with both the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9 expected to feature the new Snapdragon Wear Elite processor. The Watch Ultra 2 is reportedly 12 per cent thinner than the previous generation, equipped with an 800mAh battery and a display reaching up to 5,000 nits, while the standard Watch 9 is said to maintain a familiar design.
Samsung may also provide a demonstration of its upcoming AI-powered smart glasses, which are scheduled for a fall launch. The eyewear, developed in collaboration with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, represents a push into new form factors, potentially marking a significant expansion of the company’s ecosystem beyond traditional phones and watches.
