Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang answered a live call from US President Donald Trump on stage at the All-In conference in Los Angeles, using an unreleased Apple foldable phone.
According to TechCrunch, Huang was handed the device during his appearance and placed Trump on speaker. The phone is reportedly priced at $1,999 and is not expected to reach stores for another five weeks.
The conversation turned to AI safety and growing concerns about the technology’s risks. TechCrunch reported that Trump described the concerns as a “hoax” and argued AI was too significant to slow down.
Trump reportedly said China and “political people” stood to benefit from what he characterised as an AI panic. Huang and Trump appeared to dismiss the mounting fears, although the supplied account says it is unclear whether Huang shared Trump’s views.
