Roma urge Manchester United to formalise Manu Kone bid ahead of UEFA deadline

Manchester United have not submitted a formal offer for Roma midfielder Manu Kone, a delay that has caused growing frustration within the Serie A club. According to Corriere dello Sport, United continue to monitor the 25-year-old France international but have not progressed negotiations beyond the observation stage, despite their long-standing interest in the player.

The urgency for Roma stems from a UEFA settlement agreement that requires the completion of player sales by 31 July to satisfy specific financial conditions. The club is keen to finalise the departure of Kone, who is regarded as one of its most valuable assets, to help meet these regulatory obligations and reduce its wage bill.

Kone joined Roma from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2024 and has established himself as a key figure in the midfield. His performances have attracted attention from several European clubs, yet United remain the most frequently cited suitors. However, the lack of a concrete proposal has left the Italian side disappointed, with time becoming an increasingly critical factor in resolving his future.
