HOOD Stock Alert: Robinhood Set to Launch Crypto Trading in UK This Week
Fintech firm expands international reach via Bitstamp subsidiary as it seeks to diversify revenue streams

Robinhood Markets has announced it will launch zero-fee cryptocurrency trading for eligible customers in the United Kingdom this week. The service, facilitated through its Bitstamp UK subsidiary, will provide access to more than 50 digital assets.

The expansion marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to diversify revenue streams beyond its North American base. By waiving trading, custody, and account maintenance fees, alongside offering AI-powered market analysis via Robinhood Cortex Digests, the brokerage aims to capture market share from competitors with higher fee structures.

The announcement coincides with the release of the company’s second-quarter financial results. Robinhood reported total platform assets reaching $369 billion, with net deposits of $21.7 billion. The firm also noted a 39 per cent increase in Gold subscribers during the period.

Management demonstrated fiscal discipline in the latest earnings release, lowering its full-year 2026 operating expense guidance to a range of $2.675 billion to $2.775 billion. The company also holds a pending $1.37 billion share buyback authorisation.

Despite the positive operational metrics, Robinhood shares have faced downward pressure since early July. While the stock remains up approximately 45 per cent from its year-to-date low, it currently trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of around 45 times.

Analyst sentiment remains mixed. Barchart maintains an "8% SELL" opinion on the stock, citing technical momentum concerns. However, the broader consensus rating is a "Moderate Buy" with a mean price target of $121, suggesting potential upside from current levels.
