The performance occurred during Worcester’s 19-0 victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, a game in which the Red Sox demonstrated significant offensive output in his absence.
Despite the successful statistical output, Rutschman was pinch-hit for in the fifth inning. The decision to remove him early reflects the Red Sox’s cautious approach to his recovery.
