Rays extend Giants' offensive drought with 3-0 victory at Tropicana Field

The win was powered by a combination of timely hitting from Yandy Diaz and Junior Caminero, alongside a disciplined six-inning performance from Rays starter Shane McClanahan.
Offensive production came primarily from the Rays' lineup, with Diaz and Caminero each contributing a home run. Diaz led off the second inning against Giants pitcher Robbie Ray with his fifth homer of the season to give Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead. Later, Caminero extended the advantage in the fourth inning with his ninth home run, a 432-foot shot to left field that made the score 2-0.
The final run of the game was scored by Taylor Walls in the sixth inning. After doubling to lead off the frame and successfully stealing third base, Walls crossed home plate on Chandler Simpson's sacrifice fly, capping the scoring for the night. This marked the end of a game where the Giants failed to record a single home run, continuing a trend where their season total of 19 homers is the lowest in the majors.
On the mound, Shane McClanahan (3-2) delivered a strong outing, allowing five hits and striking out five batters over six innings. The 29-year-old left-hander faced his most significant threat in the fifth inning, when Rafael Devers and Jung Hoo Lee reached base with singles. McClanahan neutralized the situation by inducing a double-play grounder from Jerar Encarnacion to end the threat.
The Rays' bullpen maintained the shutout through the seventh and eighth innings, with Ian Seymour and Cole Sulser combining for scoreless frames. Bryan Baker then closed out the contest in the ninth inning, retiring the side in order to record his seventh save in nine opportunities.
In contrast, the Giants' starting pitcher Robbie Ray (2-4) surrendered three runs on four hits in 6 1/3 innings. Ray struggled early, yielding a bunt single to Simpson on his first pitch before picking him off on a steal attempt three pitches later. JT Brubaker finished the game for San Francisco, allowing a hit while getting the final five outs.
