Qinwen Zheng overturns 5-0 deficit to reach US Open quarter-finals
The qualifier defeated 2022 champion Iga Swiatek 7-5, 6-3 to reach the last eight for the third time.

Qinwen Zheng has reached the US Open quarter-finals for the third time after defeating former champion Iga Swiatek 7-5, 6-3 at the 2026 tournament.
Zheng recovered from 5-0 down in the opening set before taking six of the next seven games to lead. She then secured the match in straight sets.
The result extends a run of comebacks for Zheng, who two days earlier overturned a 5-0 deficit in the deciding set against Madison Keys.
The former world No. 4 came through qualifying after returning from a long-term elbow injury. Her quarter-final opponent will be either Naomi Osaka or Elena Rybakina.
Swiatek, the 2022 US Open champion, was eliminated. Sky Sports reported that she left the court in tears after her campaign ended.
