Patriots retain defensive tackle Isaiah Iton on one-year deal for 2026 season
Iton, who spent last season on injured reserve without making an appearance, will compete for depth behind Milton Williams and Christian Barmore.
The New England Patriots have agreed to a one-year contract with defensive tackle Isaiah Iton for the 2026 season, the team confirmed on Monday. The deal brings the 24-year-old back to Foxborough, where he previously signed prior to the 2025 campaign.
Iton’s agent, Sean Stellato, confirmed the agreement via ESPN reporter Mike Reiss. The new contract follows a previous one-year, $840,000 deal signed by Iton before the 2025 season, shortly after he was released by the Tennessee Titans.
The 2025 season proved difficult for Iton, who spent the entire year on injured reserve. He did not appear in any games for New England during that period, adding to a career record that currently stands at zero regular-season appearances since entering the league as an undrafted free agent with the Titans in 2024.
For the 2026 season, Iton is expected to compete for playing time behind established interior defenders Milton Williams and Christian Barmore. The defensive tackle will have the opportunity to vie for snaps during training camp this summer before the start of preseason games.
Specific financial terms for the new one-year agreement were not disclosed. The Patriots’ front office will assess Iton’s health and performance during the upcoming camp as they finalise their defensive line rotation.
