Packers defensive end Cox Jr. engaged ahead of training camp
Brenton Cox Jr. proposes to Kaelyn Williams in Sint Maarten as team prepares for July 29 camp start

Green Bay Packers defensive end Brenton Cox Jr. has become the fourth player to get engaged during the 2026 offseason, proposing to Kaelyn Williams while on vacation in Sint Maarten. The couple announced the engagement on Instagram on July 15, with the official Packers team account and several teammates offering congratulations in the comments.
Williams, who recently received her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry, stood before a heart-shaped display as Cox proposed on a red carpet surrounded by rose bouquets. The event was capped by a saxophone performance and fireworks, according to the couple’s social media post.
Cox enters his fourth year with the Packers after re-signing as a restricted free agent on a one-year, $2.5 million deal this offseason. The undrafted out-of-Florida defensive end has spent his entire career with the franchise, recording four sacks in a seven-game stretch late in the 2024 season.
His 2025 campaign was limited by a groin injury sustained in the season opener, which placed him on injured reserve until Week 16. He finished the year with one sack and one forced fumble during the regular-season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. Now healthy, Cox is expected to provide depth to the defensive line as training camp begins on Wednesday, July 29.
He joins backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor, safety Evan Williams, and wide receiver Jayden Reed as the latest Packers players to announce engagements. Taylor was the first to get engaged in March, while Williams and Reed announced their plans in the weeks following mini-camp. Reed proposed to Aneisha Cox, the 2025 Miss Wisconsin USA, earlier this month using a similar red carpet and rose petal setup.
