Owners of Maldon and Tiptree FC Charged with Human Trafficking and Rape

Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and his husband, Scott, owners of the non-league football club Maldon and Tiptree FC, have been charged with multiple offences including rape, sexual assault, and modern slavery. The allegations relate to the sexual exploitation of individuals, prompting a significant police response in the region.
The arrests were executed by Essex Police on Wednesday. As part of the investigation, forensic officers conducted searches at the couple's home in Southwood Chase, Danbury, as well as at The Swan pub in Braintree and the Drewitt-Barlow Stadium. The stadium serves as the home ground for Maldon and Tiptree FC.
During the operation, a Rolls Royce owned by Barrie Drewitt-Barlow was seized and loaded onto a trailer for examination. This vehicle was part of a broader haul of evidence gathered by police at the stadium and other locations linked to the accused.
Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, a property developer, has previously maintained a public profile through appearances on reality television programmes including Rich House, Poor House, and Below Deck Sailing Yacht. His involvement in the ownership of the football club and the pub has now become central to the unfolding criminal proceedings.
