Oregon Football Secures No. 4 National Recruiting Class for 2027 Cycle

Oregon football has secured the No. 4 national recruiting class for the 2027 cycle, according to Rivals rankings released on July 20. The class comprises 24 total commitments, with 16 identified as blue-chip prospects. This recruitment outcome positions the university’s program at the top of the Big Ten team rankings ahead of the upcoming season.
Head coach Dan Lanning and his staff have established a reputation for effective recruitment, often referred to as closing deals on the trail. Their efforts have resulted in a class that includes eight top-100 recruits. The program has successfully attracted talent from across the United States, competing against local powers in states including Michigan, New Jersey, Arizona, and North Carolina.
Key high-profile additions to the class include five-star wide receiver Dakota Guerrant, who is ranked as the No. 1 player in Michigan. Also joining the Ducks is five-star quarterback Will Mencl, who pledged in April after choosing Oregon over Auburn and other institutions. Mencl is currently the top-ranked passer in the Rivals300 and an industry top-50 recruit.
The class also features four-star wide receiver Xavier Sabb, the No. 2 player in New Jersey, and four-star edge rusher Rashad Streets. Streets is currently the top-ranked industry four-star and is in the hunt for five-star status through the end of the cycle. Other notable commitments include four-star cornerback Hayden Stepp and four-star safety Semaj Stanford, both of whom are top-100 prospects.
Additional recruits include four-star athlete Tae Walden Jr., who could line up on either side of the ball at the next level. The full class includes four-star running back CaDarius McMiller, four-star tight end Anthony Cartwright III, and various offensive and defensive linemen. While the class is ranked No. 4 nationally, it remains in contention for elite status ahead of National Signing Day, with some prospects still being evaluated for potential rating adjustments.
