OpenAI launches $1 billion Daybreak cyber defence programme
The programme brings Cloudflare and SentinelOne into a network of more than 35 reported enterprise products and partner services.
OpenAI launched Daybreak for Frontline Defenders on 3 September, reportedly committing $1 billion to subsidised access, training, technical support and partnerships, according to Yahoo Finance.
The Daybreak Defense Network reportedly includes more than 35 enterprise products and partner-operated services. Cloudflare is offering invitation-only access to an artificial-intelligence service for vulnerability discovery and remediation, built with GPT-5.6 Cyber.
Cloudflare’s service is designed to combine authorised source-code analysis with traffic and security context, with proposed code patches and web application firewall mitigations submitted for customer review. Its availability, pricing and customer uptake remain unclear.
SentinelOne is adding Daybreak models to its Wayfinder services for code-risk assessment, compromise investigation and malware analysis. The approach places the technology within endpoint and security-operations workflows used by security teams.
Neither partnership is presented as a revenue disclosure, and the supplied source includes no customer, revenue or performance metrics. The commercial test will be whether the offerings convert from subsidised or invitation-only access into paid products while controlling false positives and avoiding unsafe recommendations.
