Second executive exit this week as Dali Rajic of Wiz takes over revenue role

OpenAI has confirmed that chief revenue officer Denise Dresser will leave the company in the coming weeks to pursue other opportunities. Her departure marks the second senior executive exit from the artificial intelligence firm this week, following the announcement by Brad Lightcap, special projects lead and former chief operating officer, that he is also stepping down.

Dresser, who joined OpenAI in December after serving as chief executive officer of Slack, will be replaced by Dali Rajic, currently president and chief operating officer of cybersecurity firm Wiz. According to the company, Rajic will be responsible for building the revenue operating system required to scale for the next phase of model development.

The leadership changes come as OpenAI files a confidential S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission, a move indicating preparations for an initial public offering. The company submitted the filing in June, signaling its intent to go public while navigating a period of significant internal restructuring.

Rajic joins OpenAI from Wiz, which was acquired by Google for $32 billion earlier this year. His appointment follows a broader reshuffle that has seen other high-profile departures, including former AGI chief Fidji Simo and former chief marketing officer Kate Rouch. Dresser had previously assumed some of Lightcap’s responsibilities when he transitioned to his special projects role.

Despite reporting more than one billion weekly active users and serving two million businesses, OpenAI executives have acknowledged that the company has not met all revenue goals. CEO Sam Altman has previously emphasised a strategic shift away from technology experiments deemed distracting from the core objective of enterprise adoption, a focus now central to Rajic’s new mandate.
