Oklahoma State has reportedly added 92 new players to a 105-player roster for the 2026 college football season, making the Cowboys one of the sport’s most transfer-heavy teams.
New coach Eric Morris recruited 65 transfers after leaving North Texas. The supplied report says 20 of those players came directly from his former team, while also referring to 16 former North Texas players joining Oklahoma State.
Quarterback Drew Mestemaker is among the most prominent arrivals. He reportedly threw for more than 4,000 yards and 34 touchdowns for North Texas in 2025.
Other former North Texas contributors include running back Caleb Hawkins, the team’s leading rusher last season, along with leading tackler Ethan Wesloski and leading sack-getter Keviyan Huddleston. Wide receivers Wyatt Young and Miles Coleman are also reported to have joined the Cowboys.
North Texas finished 12–2 in 2025 and defeated San Diego State in the New Mexico Bowl before Morris moved to Oklahoma State. The scale of the recruitment effort reflects the influence a coach can carry when moving between programmes, while leaving questions about how quickly such a heavily rebuilt roster can operate as a unit.
