Ohio State takes top spot in updated College Football Playoff odds
The Buckeyes are the new favourites after a 56–3 opening-week win, while Oregon and Michigan have lost ground in FanDuel’s latest market.

Ohio State has emerged as the favourite to win the 2026 College Football Playoff after Week 1, with odds of +550 in the latest figures reported by Fox Sports from FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Buckeyes opened their campaign with a 56–3 victory over Ball State, scoring two touchdowns in each quarter. Quarterback Julian Sayin completed 21 of 25 passes for three touchdowns, while Jeremiah Smith recorded 151 receiving yards and two scores.
Ohio State’s next test is against Texas in Week 2. The Longhorns opened with a 59–7 win over Texas State, with Arch Manning throwing for 305 yards and four touchdowns.
Oregon has slipped from the third choice at +750 to sixth at +950 after narrowly defeating Boise State. The Ducks trailed 17–7 and were level at 27 with 8:45 remaining before securing the win. They will visit Oklahoma State in Week 2.
Michigan’s odds have lengthened from +4500 to +10000 despite a 1–0 start. The movement follows a disputed call that gave the Wolverines an opportunity to attempt a last-second Hail Mary, which became a game-winning touchdown.
The figures reflect betting-market pricing rather than a definitive forecast of the champion and may change. Fox Sports also discloses that it may receive compensation from legal sports betting partners.
