Lauren Jackson backs Indiana Fever for WNBA championship
The three-time MVP praised Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell as Indiana pushes towards the playoffs.
WNBA great Lauren Jackson has declared her support for the Indiana Fever to win this year’s championship, while praising the team’s leading guards Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.
Jackson made the comments in a conversation with WNBA great Sue Bird, according to Yahoo Sports. The three-time WNBA MVP and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee said she enjoys watching Clark’s style of play, particularly when the guard “gets hot”.
Jackson also singled out Mitchell, saying she enjoys watching the way the Fever player performs. Her comments represent a personal championship preference, rather than a prediction or official endorsement by the WNBA.
The Fever were listed at 26–14 and tied for fourth in the league standings, with four regular-season games remaining. Clark and Mitchell were reported to be combining for an average of 47.5 points per game.
Both players have been mentioned among WNBA MVP candidates, alongside A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Olivia Miles of the Minnesota Lynx.
