Oddsmakers are expressing significant doubt regarding Jordan Spieth’s ability to complete the career Grand Slam at the 2026 PGA Championship. The American golfer, who has secured three major titles, is currently priced at +6300 to win the tournament at Aronimink Golf Club. This represents a substantial increase from +4000 earlier in the year, a shift that reflects a lack of Top 10 finishes in the 2026 season and a historical struggle at this specific major.
Spieth, aged 32, has won the 2015 Masters, the 2015 U.S. Open, and the 2017 British Open. He is one of 11 golfers to have won exactly three legs of the Grand Slam and one of only three, alongside Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson, who have not won the PGA Championship. His best result in this event was a second-place finish in 2015, three shots behind Jason Day. Since a tie for third in 2019, he has not finished better than 30th in the PGA Championship and missed the cut in 2025 at Quail Hollow.
World number one Scottie Scheffler is the clear favourite to win the Wanamaker Trophy, priced at +220. Historical data indicates that eight of the past nine major champions were among the top-five betting favourites entering their respective tournaments. An American golfer has won the trophy for each of the past 10 years, and the defending champion is the -142 favourite to win again this week.
