Notre Dame football coach Marcus Freeman has addressed the enhanced hairline that attracted social-media attention after the team’s 41–13 win over Wisconsin.
Freeman discussed the look during a July appearance on the Not Just Football podcast with Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward. He said he uses “a little enhancement” to keep his hairline sharp, particularly as it begins thinning at the corners.
He also joked about the practical risks of the styling, advising people to wear a hat if rain is forecast and to be proactive rather than reactive.
Freeman debuted waves and a fade during Notre Dame’s season opener against Wisconsin, replacing his usual short curls. The sharply defined hairline prompted online discussion, though the exact product or application method was not specified.
IndyStar reported that Freeman declined an interview request about the hairstyle. Similar attention has previously focused on athletes including Jaylen Brown, Carlos Boozer and Ryan Hollins over apparent or acknowledged hair enhancements.
