Nothing announced its $399 Headphone (1) Pro at an event in New York City, pitching the over-ear headphones to studio professionals and everyday listeners. The model went on sale in North America on 29 September through Nothing, Amazon and Best Buy.

Each earcup has three drivers: a 40-mm dynamic driver for bass, a precision driver for midrange and an xMEMS treble driver. The design also exposes parts of the driver architecture beneath glass panels on the headphones’ sides.

Audio features developed with Metropolis Studios include a flat equalisation mode, a “Studio B” spatial audio mode and four custom EQ profiles. The headphones also have a 3.5-mm jack and USB-C connectivity.

Nothing says active noise cancellation uses 10 microphones and that battery life can reach 68 hours with ANC switched off. The company’s standard Headphone (1) is listed at 80 hours in the same condition. The Pro carries an IP52 rating and does not fold.

At $399, the Pro is $100 more than the standard model, according to WIRED. The source material provides no independent testing of audio quality, noise cancellation or battery life.
