Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Brings Discounts to Red-Light Therapy Devices
WIRED’s testing team identifies key models on sale, noting that while scientific evidence supports red-light therapy, individual results vary and device specifications require careful consideration.
Nordstrom’s annual Anniversary Sale, which runs until 9 August 2026, has introduced discounted pricing on a selection of red-light therapy devices, including LED masks for skin treatment and hair growth tools. The promotion highlights products from brands such as TheraFace, HigherDose, and SpectraLite, offering consumers access to devices that have undergone evaluation by WIRED’s Reviews team over the past 18 months.
Among the featured items, the SpectraLite mask stands out for its efficiency, requiring only three minutes of daily treatment compared to the typical 10-minute sessions required by other models. This shorter duration addresses a common barrier to consistency, as users must apply LED masks to clean skin free of makeup and skincare products. However, the sale price applies exclusively to the red colour variant of the SpectraLite mask; the rose gold version is not included in the discount.
For hair growth, the HigherDose hat has drawn attention for its baseball cap design. WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell reported significant new hair growth after using the device for trichotillomania-related hair loss. It is important to note that these devices are designed to stimulate dormant or weakened hair follicles and are not expected to restore hair in follicles that have died due to aging, alopecia, or other damaging conditions.
TheraFace is also represented in the sale with its updated hard-shell mask, which offers a massage feature. However, testers found the updated model less desirable than the original because the vibration feature was moved to the straps rather than the mask itself. The original TheraFace mask is not included in the sale. The retailer also stocks a Nordstrom-exclusive flexible silicone mask featuring 633nm and 830nm near-infrared light, which requires 10-minute treatments three to five times a week.
While the Contour mask is not discounted during the event, it includes a bonus gift of three hyaluronic acid Hydrogel Facial Masks valued at $29. As with all red-light therapy devices, individual results for skin treatment and hair growth may vary significantly and are not guaranteed, despite the scientific evidence supporting the efficacy of the technology.
